Full Text
Extract of a letter from Peek's Kill, January 29.
"Yesterday Daniel Surang, of this county, as a spy from the enemy's army, was executed, pursuant to a sentence of a general court martial. He was lurking about the army here, and had enlisting orders to recruit for the enemy found in his breeches, which were on him.
It is to be hoped, his punishment will deter others from the horrid and unnatural act of conspiring against their country, and aiding her cruel enemies in committing every kind of iniquity."
