Remember that the Ashland Times of last week sends up a howl of hypocritical sympathy for A. G. Beer, as candidate for Auditor, and Captain Hood, as candidate for Sheriff of Ashland County.
Remember that these men are strong supporters of the Abolition Administration which has dissolved our Union of States and mortgaged the souls and bodies of the next ten generations to pay a war debt, heaped upon your shoulders by Shoddy Contractors and Government thieves.
Recollect that although Mr. Beer and Capt. Hood have been so lucky as to get through Abe Lincoln's flint-mill, that don't give them the right to claim your suffrages to prolong murder, robbery and bankruptcy. They are entitled to respect and good treatment as civilians--nothing more. If they have been so unlucky as to lose limbs and carry leaden balls inside their skins, from their experience in this murderous contest, they are entitled to the sympathy of community, but your first duty is to support men who you know entertain correct principles with regard to that in which you are most interested. If you have sympathy to bestow upon the unfortunate of our land, do it in such a way as to benefit the greatest number you can; do it by voting for men who are opposed to cold blooded murder and high-way robbery, and not for men, who, although they have suffered, yet are in favor of a policy that will probably make you fellow cripples and objects of sympathy with themselves.
