SALEM, Dec. 14.

The internal affairs of the British Empire seem, by late accounts, to assume an appearance every day more alarming and dangerous. In England itself the people seem to lose that affection for their native country, which is common to all men, and for which Englishmen particularly have been remarkable. A society is said to be formed expressly for the purpose of emigration to America, in order to found a new colony on the Western Continent. The intended emigrants are chiefly of the middling class, none are excepted, and their numbers are said to be very great. There is a weekly subscription for the purpose; and when a certain sum has been collected, it is to be deposited in the American funds. The reason given by them for entering into this scheme are, the oppressions they suffer in their own country, the small probability of any alteration, and the dread of the convulsion which must attend the change.
