Asks Defense Day Cost Be Matched For Peace Drive

OSHKOSH—Appropriation of a sum equal to the cost of Defense day celebration, to be used for working out a constructive plan for world peace, was urged by Mrs. Ben Hooper, Wisconsin chairman of the Women Voters' league committee on war prevention, in a letter to President Coolidge. "I feel that this demonstration is making it much more difficult for the people of the United States to come together with the rest of the world in some plan by which war shall be made a punishable crime," she said in the letter.
