25 YEAR RETIREMENT BILL INTRODUCED

Prospect that the time is approaching when a Soldier, Sailor or Marine can "hang up his hat" after 25 years with the colors seem brighter.

According to a dispatch from Washington, Representative Wurzbach of Texas has just introduced a bill providing for retirement after 25 years of service, with 75 per cent of pay and allowances, the latter being set at $9.50 per month in lieu of rations and clothing and $6.25 per month in lieu of quarters, fuel and light.

This would make a Master Sergeant's retirement pay amount to $133.87; Technical and 1st Sergeant's $94.50; Staff Sergeants $83.25 and Sergeants $66.38.
