CHARLO

Mrs. A. J. Sullivan was called suddenly to Burley, Idaho on account of the death of her mother. Mrs. Sullivan expects to be gone indefinitely.

D. A. Dellwo left Thursday for Helena, where he will represent the Flathead District before the Interstate Commerce meeting, which is being held in that city.

Fred Guenzler, manager of the Lake County Livestock Shipping Association, was a Charlo visitor Friday, and incidentally took another car of stock to the Spokane market.

J. B. Abercrombie, the new Lake county cow tester, spent several days the past week in the Charlo and Mission districts.

I. R. Bennett, one of the new settlers, is now sporting a new Chevrolet Sedan, that he purchased the past week.

Anton Maanum, one of our new settlers, has just received a large shipment of household furniture from his former home in Minneapolis, Minn., and has it now installed in his new home one mile east of Charlo.

The Freshmen class, held a sleighing party Friday night. Refreshments were served by members of the class at the schoolhouse. Those who attended outside of the freshman class were: Mary Kistle, Inez Calkins, Glenn Dorsey, Sally Indreland, Nellie Hunton, Mr. Hill. All reported a merry time.

Sleighing parties have been the rule most every night the past week and the young people are enjoying themselves in every sense of the word. Two and sometimes four horses are hooked onto a large bob sled and about 25 of the young people go at one time.

James Wood, one of our leading farmers, has imported several head of fine young purebred Shorthorn heifers, and he now has one of the best foundations for a good herd in the valley.

Albert Cox, left Friday for Butte. He has spent several days visiting homefolks.

Harvey Cox was a Missoula business visitor Wednesday. He returned home Thursday

Mrs. Blair Barnes and infant Son of Kalispell, are spending a few days visiting her mother, Mrs. J. J. Keller and family.

Mrs. Oscar Engle has been very ill the past week, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Francis McGeorge.

Mrs. Francis McGeorge was a business visitor in Missoula Wednesday.

H. C. Keller and family returned home Sunday from Big Fork, where they have spent the past two weeks visiting Mr. Keller's brother and family.

Willard Newell of Ronan, fieldman for the Amalgamated Sugar Company, was a business visitor in town, Tuesday.

W. C. Larsen was a week end business visitor in Missoula last week.

Kay Roark, was a visitor in Missoula Tuesday.

Mrs. R. C. Roark was called suddenly to Missoula Wednesday, on account of the illness of her son, Kay.

Roy Miller, fieldman for the General American Creamery, spent several days in Charlo, looking after business interests here. He left Saturday for Butte.

Eugene Hunton, Mrs. E. C. Hunton and Miss Nellie Hunton, were callers in Charlo Sunday. Miss Hunton is taking Miss Lee's place in the local school.

Miss Lee was forced to resign her position in the Charlo schools on account of sickness.

Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Corcoran and family of Ronan, were Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Dellwo.

C. W. Grant of Orchard Homes, was a business visitor in Charlo Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. G. H. McCormick of Ronan, were business visitors in Charlo Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. Earl Spencer entertained a group of friends at their home Wednesday evening. Two tables of cards were in play and a delightful radio program was enjoyed. The hostess served refreshments. Those enjoying Mr. and Mrs. Spencer's hospitality were Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Wamsley, Mr. and Mrs. F. I. Erwin and Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Dellwo.
