Next week one of the courts which has been so mangled by our rulers, will meet in this town. The Council have made a declaration by their appointments, that one of the gentlemen, who was formerly on the bench, was unfit for office. This gentleman belongs to this town, every one of his fellow citizens still retain the highest respect for his character. As the constitution received a most deadly stroke through his devoted side: as many most worthy characters beside have fallen a sacrifice to the impious designs of an unprincipled set of men. It is your duty, my fellow-citizens, to examine, to see for yourselves; what kind of folks these new appointed ones are. It is therefore most earnestly desired, that there may be a full, a general attendance when this court meets; that, in a matter in which we are so closely concerned, we may be able to compare the new with the old, and to determine whether the Gods are indeed come down amongst us.
