A BIG WHEATFIELD.—FARGO, D. T., July 29, 1879.—The Catholic colonization party, accompanied by Manager Sanborn and Land Agent Powers, Major Brackett and Rev. Dr. Dana, spent the day on the Dalrymple farms, and went by special train as far as Valley City. A portion of the party return to-night. Dalrymple is harvesting at the rate of 1,500 acres a day; 20,000 acres in grain all told; 115 reapers and self-binders at work; 20 steam threshers; 600 men all told; average yield, 20 to 25 bushels per acre. Chapin's farm runs as high as 35 in some pieces. Isolated sections on smaller farms will reach 40. The weather is fine, and every grain field alive with harvesters and threshers, and double the acreage sown this year compared with any previous one. Throughout No. 1 Minnesota wheat crop exceptionally good.
