IN SENATE.
Monday. Jan. 7.
Mr Bayard appeared and took his seat.
The report of the Secretary at War, on the expenditures of the monies appropriated for the contingent expenses of the military establishment for the year 1810, was read.
Messrs. Leib. Smith (Md) and Condit were appointed a committee, in consequence of the passage of the resolution submitted on Friday, relative to the application of the library fund.
The bill to authorise the surveying and making of certain roads in the state of Ohio, as contemplated by the treaty of Brownstown, was referred to Messrs. Campbell, Bradley and Gregg
The bill to incorporate the Bank of Potomac, the bill to incorporate the Bank of Washington, and the bill to incorporate the subscribers to the Farmer's Bank of Alexandria were severally postponed.
The bill providing for the removal of the Land Offices at Nashville, T. and Canton, O &c, &c. was referred to Messrs. Campbell, Franklin and Bayard.
The bill to suspend the second section of the act regulating Foreign Coins & for other purposes, was referred to Messrs. Lloyd, Bradley and Smith, Md.
A message was received from the President of the United States, accompanied by the report of the Director of the Mint, and of the operation of that establishment during the last year.
After the consideration of Executive and confidential business, the Senate adjourned.
