FIRE IN WALTHAM.—The mansion house of Philander Ames, Esq., was nearly destroyed yesterday afternoon. The house, with its outbuildings, covered a large space of ground, was of the most thorough and costly structure, and could not have cost less than $10,000. The furniture was nearly all saved, but in a greatly damaged condition. An insurance of $3,500 on the main building had been made a few weeks since at the Charlestown office, and the Worcester office had $1,000 on the adjoining buildings.
