Formally Inducted Into the Office of Headmaster of Trinity School.

Trinity College. N. C.. Dec, 10.--Prof. J. A. Bivins was formally inaugurated as headmaster of the Trinity Park School last night in Memorial Hall. A good sized crowd was present. The speakers for the occasion were Rev. T. F. Marr. D. D.. of Charlotte. in behalf of the trustees; President J. C. Kilgo. for the college; Prof. F. S. Aldridge for the Trinity Park School faculty. and Mr. J. P. Frizzelle. class of 1900. for the alumni of the school. The inaugural of Headmaster Bivins was then delivered. His theme was the aim and scope of a preparatory school. He believes that the first aim of any secondary school should be to train students to be men of character--strong. Christian character-and after that to prepare them thoroughly for entrance to college-- in short train. ethically for life. but mentally for higher education. On carrying out these ideals Prof. Bivins will be following in the footsteps of his brother. the late headmaster whose work has resulted in so much good.
