PREPARE UNITED ACTIONS OF ALL THE WORKERS MAY FIRST:

376 Delegates in Chicago United Front for May
CHICAGO, Ill., April 3.-Organizing a united demonstration for May First, followed by the huge Free Tom Mooney Mass Meeting the same evening at the Chicago Stadium, was the main subject of discussion of the United Front May Day Conference held yesterday. The 376 delegates gave their approval to the report of John Williamson, representing the Communist Party, and endorsed the action of sending a letter to the Socialist Party, to unite in a single May Day demonstration on the main burning issues facing the working class. Lucy Parsons, widow of A. Parsons, martyr of Chicago's Haymarket demonstration of 1886, was elected vice-chairman.

A committee was elected to present this program to the next conference of the Socialist Party.

Socialist Youth Held Back

In answer to the letter of the Communist Party already a week ago the city committee of the Young Peoples' Socialist League, stated that at their meeting on March 23 they "endorsed the principle of a single May Day demonstration in Chicago by the entire working class on May First as proposed by the Communist Party and the Young Communist League." But the youth organization waited for "favorable action" from "the County Executive of the Socialist Party." So far, the Socialist Party has not replied.
