FROM THE SENTINEL
Prescribed by one, whose first duty it was
PARALYZED by deleterious drugs,
To cherish and support her—
And
Administered with savage and malignant
pleasure,
By Empirics,
Who had sworn to be her Physicians,—
THE JUDICIARY of the U. STATES.
Fell on THURSDAY the 1st inst.
OF the FEDERAL CONSTITUTION.
The fairest DAUGHTER
The Deed
Was the more barbarous,
As it was perpetrated without provocation
Whose uncorruptible integrity, and filial
On a gentle, and unoffending victim:—
piety,
"Which grew with her growth and
Strengthened with her strength.?"
(If permitted to mature)
Would have enabled her effectually to resist
Every Outrage
Which Ambition, Party Rage or intolerance
Might have attempted.
Against her revered PARENT.
The Following
Was the order of the Procession
At the INTERMENT:—
MELANCHOLY AND PATIENCE,
Bearing a mourning banner, with this
inscription, "Help Lord, for the
faithful fail from among the
Children of Men."

volume of the latter torn in pieces.]
NATIONAL GLORY,
With her spear revered, her shield broken,
and encircled with a scroll—“My
splendor is departed."
PUBLIC CONFIDENCE AND PRIVATE FAITH,
Walked with dejected countenance, try-
ing to support each other.
Then followed
The Immortal Spirits of WARREN,
PRESCOTT, WOOSTER, MONT-
GOMERY, MERCER, SCAMMEL,
and other departed worthies.
Sorrow was deeply impressed on the coun-
tenances of this interesting group,
before whom went a Cherub
weeping, holding out a label—
"If she rise not—we have fought and died
in vain,"
Though the mantle of oblivion
is spread over her body
And the fiat of Despotism has pronounced
We shall see her face no more
it—We mourn not,
Like those without hope
: We believe.
She is not dead, but sleepeth
And, that in due time.
:Some Political HUMANE SOCIETY will
arise, which, rescuing her from Ap-
parent Death, shall restore her.
To HEALTH, VIGOR, and USEFULNESS.
And to the embraces
Of her now, bereaved RELATIVES.
Until then,
Her memory, shall be embalmed in the
Affections of our Country.
And she shall be remembered in the Ora-
isons of the
GREAT AND GOOD:
Whose Prayers will not be unheard nor
unregarded
Her Remains
Were deeply deposited in the family
Prescribed by one, whose first duty it was
