Kentucky papers to June 11, give many melancholy accounts of murders and depredations committed by the Indians on and within the frontiers of Kentucky. Accounts from the territory South of the Ohio, are no less disagreeable with respect to the general conduct of the savages. On the 23d of May two Chickasaws and a Cherokee (unarmed) were fired upon by some persons unknown, in the woods, not 600 paces from governor Blount's house. One of them, John Morris, was mortally wounded, and died soon afterwards. He was interred by order of the governor, with the honours of war.
