M. O. Harden, of Lordsburg, N. M., last Thursday arrested at the Swisshelm ranch in Sulphur Spring valley, R. L. Wright, who is wanted for the murder of a man named Lane in San Saba county, Texas, in 1889. Wright has lived for several years in the lower part of the valley, being commonly known by the name of John Wood. We understand that he admits the killing but claims extenuating circumstances, and also states that he has influential relatives in Texas who will aid in his defense. Officer Harden, who was made the agent of the Texas authorities, brought his prisoner to Willcox, where he was temporarily lodged in jail, pending the arrival of extradition papers. Governor Franklin on Friday honored the requisition of the governor of Texas for the extradition of Wright and Mr. Harden left with his prisoner Sunday morning for Lordsburg, where the sheriff of San Saba county, Texas was to be in waiting.
