The need to foster understanding between different racial and religious groups, thus strengthening the democratic way of life, was underscored by Greenbelt's church and educational leaders in the Intercultural Forum held in observance of National Brotherhood Week at the Center School on Tuesday, February 18.

More than 300 local residents heard Dr. Walter Hager, president of Wilson Teachers College, lead discussions on the topics of "Brotherhood in Action" and "Growing up Without Prejudice."

The principal speakers were Rev. Leo Fealey, Holy Redeemer Church; Mrs. Rowena Whittaker, principal of North End school; Rabbi Morris A. Sandhaus, Greenbelt Jewish Community Center; Mrs. Lucille Carpenter, guidance director, Greenbelt High School; and Rev. Eric Braund, Community Church.

A former military training film, "Don't Be A Sucker," designed to strengthen the unity of different races and national groups in our army, preceded the discussion.
