MINNEAPOLIS
BITS 'N' NEWS
BY MARY J. KYLE
Next Monday morning the curtain goes up on one of the most dramatic events of this current American era - the battle before the supreme court on the issue of segregated schools. For three days the eyes of the world will be focused on our nation's capitol - watching to see if the United States is really ready, willing and able to practice what we preach . . . Those "die-hard" white supremists below the Mason-Dixon line are having several different kinds of fits and racing around like rats in a trap, trying to find a loophole out of this one. Let's hope, for the good of our country's foreign policy, they don't "fan the breeze" with their usual disgusting anti-Negro propaganda . . . Should the decision actually abolish segregation in public institutions it will be almost as momentous an occasion as the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation . . . I've got my fingers crossed - how about you?
