Full Text

A correspondent at Plymouth writes that the English sailor, who was lately demanded from on board a Dutch man of war, says he was kidnapped on board it at Rotterdam, having been cast away on the coast of Holland, under pretence of its being a fine merchantman, bound on a good voyage; that he attended his duty constantly, and never received more than thirteen shillings wages; that upon being demanded by a Lieutenant of one of his Majesty's ships, he was refused, and afterwards whipped in the severest manner with three inch ropes, until he was insensible, and long after he was so, and then put into irons. In short, if the account is true, in honour to the nation, some satisfaction ought to be demanded.
