AT CHARLESTON
Charleston, W. Va., July 30.-General John J. Pershing will address residents of Charleston tomorrow afternoon from the steps of the capitol. He will be introduced by Governor John J. Cornwell.
The general is one of a party of officers and business men making inspection of the properties of the Pure Oil company in Kanawha county. He is accompanied by his aide, Colonel Marshall, General C. B. Dawes, purchasing agent of the A. E. F., and formerly comptroller of the treasury; B. G. Dawes, of Marietta, O., president of the Pure Oil company, and others.
The party arrived from Marietta, O., in a private car and spent today inspecting properties of the company at Dawes, Kanawha county. They will continue the inspection tomorrow at Cabin Creek Junction, pay a visit to Charleston, and later leave for Washington.
General Pershing today expressed his interest in former service men, and stated that he would be glad to meet local members of the American Legion today.
