BOSTON, OCT. 14.
From the Mediterranean.
The United States frigate Boston, Capt. M'Neil, arrived in the outer harbor, on Sunday last, from Gibraltar, 30 days. The Commander informs, that a partial peace was concluded with the Emperor of Morocco, and that Mr. Simpson had returned to Tangiers;—That the Emperor had claimed and manned the Tripoline Admiral, which had so long lain dismantled at Gibraltar, and fitted her for sea;—in consequence of which Commodore Morris, considering her a Tripoline, had ordered the Adams, Capt. Campbell, to cruize off Algeciras to watch her motions, and to capture her on her putting to sea: and had stationed an officer on shore to make signals;—and that Commodore Morris had sailed from Gibraltar, with Mr. Cathcart, for Algiers.
The Boston had been stationed off Tripoli, where she was relieved by the Constitution, of 38 guns, Capt. Murray—She then proceeded to Naples, and convoyed a number of American and Swedes to Gibraltar. Capt. M'Neil had a slight affair with three gun boats near Tripoli; one of which he sunk, and the other two hauled into shoal water. The Boston suffered no injury.
The Danes have made peace with Tripoli, by the promise of tribute in money and military stores.
