WINTER ADVENT
AT CAPISTRANO
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, Calif., Oct. 23. (U.P.)—Villagers, who for 68 years have "set" their calendar by the arrival and departure of a flock of swallows, today announced the approach of winter.
In the walls of historic San Juan Capistrano mission, the swallows quit their nests for their annual flight southward, which always starts on October 23. And, as unfailingly, they have always returned on March 19.
"They haven't failed since we started keeping records of their flights," Father Hutchison, who is in charge of the mission said.
