Fall Criminal
Calendar Opens

Activities on the fall criminal calendar got under way in superior court this morning. Following the examination of 85 prospective talesmen called for jury service the calendar was set and trials of defendants started.
In Judge Thompson's department, Cho C. King, charged with issuing a n. s. f. check, faced a jury trial starting this morning. Ed Wong and J. F. Cunningham went on trial before Judge McPherrin on charges of issuing bad checks.
Following these trials will come those of Earl and Clyde Bonner charged with assault with intent to commit murder, Johnny Diaz, charged with murder; R. E. Houston, forgery; C. A. Barber, escape, and Victor Rivers, burglary. The Bonner trial was to open this afternoon before Judge Thompson if the King action should be completed in time.
