Full Text

The New York Riot.—The Military has been dismissed. The municipal authorities yesterday discharged every employee who was concerned in the riot. The indignation among the Irish was heightened by this proceeding and many threats of revenge against the Governor, the Park Commissioners, and the Street Commissioners, were made. But the authorities are prepared to repress any more disturbances. It is singular that, notwithstanding all the fighting, not one of the Orangemen was hurt. A number of the rioters have been held by the Police Courts for trial. Seven more deaths occurred yesterday, making the total number fifty-six, and this will be increased by others who are mortally wounded.
