A ROUND UP AT DYER'S.
Barkeeper Joe Emory's Tussle With Three Toughs.
They were from the headwaters of Fighting creek and they had blood in their eyes. This descriptive sentence will be applied to the somewhat nomadic looking individuals who sailed in Friday night to make Bartender Joe Emory into a piece of sausage.
It seems that a crowd of toughs had gathered at the bar room and of course the next thing on the programme was a "scrap" and it did not make a great deal of difference with the would-be scrappers who they sailed into. After exhausting all methods known to them to provoke a "racket" with some one, three of them jumped on to the bartender. They jumped on him, too, with both feet. Right handers, left handers, side splitters, eye shutters and everything known to the night brawl rules was brought into play, and a real, old fashioned free-for-all fight was the result.
When the atmosphere again cleared there was a vision of disappearing toughs in a condition more or less dilapidated and the bartender, still master of the situation, was readjusting his clothes and repairing the damage done him facially and bodily.
