POSEN, (Germany) August 7.

From Salonica, situated at the end of the gulf of the Archipelago, Buonaparte, to join Palfawan Oglou, in Bulgaria, may pass the Strymon, and free mount Haemus, on the other side of which is Sophia. Then he will have the Danube before him, and nothing can arrest his progress to Widden. That is (which is not so probable) his designs are against Constantinople, his fleets may follow him along the northern coast of the Archipelago. In either case, there is no fortress to oppose him, and there is nothing to prevent Buonaparte from forming a Greek Republic, of the west part of European Turkey, comprising Candia and the islands in the Archipelago. This project seems bold, but is worthy of him who formed it, and those who are employed in the execution of it. The maritime powers are not in a state to prevent it.

The success of this plan, will establish a Republic favorable to France, and which will menace the states of the House of Austria. Then the expedition of Buonaparte, which has caused so much speculation, will be developed.-If hostilities should recommence, it will afford France the means of attacking Austria, or at least of disturbing it; at all events, it will carry back knowledge and liberty to their original country.

We are aware of all the objections which may be made to this magnificent plan. We are aware that he may bring down the Austrians. the Russians and the Turks upon him; but the foresight of these powers have already appeared defective. If France joins the intrepid Pashwan Oglou, as is now supposed, then the whole is explained, and everything is possible.
