Full Text

According to some private Letters from Madrid, that Court is not averse to the granting the English a Free Navigation in the West-Indies, provided our Ships keep within the Limits that shall be prescribed them, and give sufficient Securities that they shall do so : But what those Limits are to be, what Kind of Security will be deemed sufficient by the Spanish Court, and what Allowances they are inclined to make for adverse Winds and Currents, we cannot yet learn; and therefore may be allowed to suspect they are seeking some admirable Expedient to hedge in the Cuckow.
