8,737

4,337 Bell's gain in 115 counties.

The Richmond Enquirer of Saturday, says:

"The returns show that in the cities and counties heard from, Breckinridge has 2,743 majority over Bell. The remaining counties gave Letcher 1,005 majority over Goggin. The Democratic majority in this State will be over 3,000."

The Richmond Whig says:-"The result in Virginia is still uncertain. Breckinridge's majority, as far as heard from, is only 506, and the counties to be heard from gave Letcher 294 majority. They embrace a district in which heavy gains for Bell are expected, and an average gain of about twenty in each county will overcome Breckinridge's present majority. On the other hand, among the counties to be heard from definitely, are four in the Southwest, in which the Democracy claim a gain of 700."
