MRS. CHAUNCEY D. HINERMAN

Associate Chairman

Republican State Committee

A man once bought an expensive barometer.

When it was delivered to him he was very much perturbed to find the needle stuck at "hurricane." He shook it. turned it over and still it said "hurricane."

He got down and wrote a letter to the manufacturers and went out to mail it in a great state of annoyance. When he returned he found his house was gone and the barometer with it.

The barometer of state has long said "STOP SPENDING"

-yet the Federal Government spending program for 1940 is the largest of any government in all history.

Shall we heed the warning of an approaching hurricane or shall we refuse to believe until it is too late?
