The United Lutheran Church, which in 1942 raised more than $600,000 for "Lutheran World Action" under the leadership of Director Dr. Ralph H. Long, has set a goal of one million dollars for the same causes in 1943. Of this total, one-half will be for the church's ministry to men in the armed services; $270,000 for "orphaned missions" in Africa and Asia; $150,000 for a ministry to industrial workers; $15,000 for War Prisoners' Aid; $5,000 for the American Bible Society; $10,000 for work among refugees; and $50,000 for emergencies.
