HEROIC RESCUE

Of Five Little Boys from Drowning By James McCauley, South Boston.

Boston, June 17.—Five small boys, who had been thrown into the Charles river by the overturning of a boat, were rescued tonight by James T. McCauley of South Boston, after a hard struggle. McCauley was passing on a car over the Harvard bridge when he saw the boat overturn. He jumped from the car and leaped into the water.

He got four of them while they were still struggling and put them safely in boats which were near the scene. The fifth boy, Clyde Rayfuse, of 97 Warwick street, Roxbury, went to the bottom and McCauley had to dive twice before he brought him to the surface.

Young Rayfuse was revived and taken to the City hospital.
