Miss Marion Goodhall of Hartford and North Ashford and former Selectman Ensign Kibbe of Somers have leased and are having completely renovated preparatory to a reopening the old State Line Restaurant and Bus Stop at Lake Mashapaug, Union, eastern terminus of the Wilbur Cross Parkway. Long operated by the father of Miss Goodhall, the late Wallace I. Goodhall, the restaurant was one of the better known eating places along the through New York, Hartford, and Boston route. Due to wartime conditions it was closed temporarily shortly before the death of Mr. Goodhall.
Wallace I. Goodhall, Jr., is to continue operation of the old State Line Garage, long operated by his father, junction point of the Connecticut and Massachusetts state police highway patrols, and one of the best known automotive emergency stations in that area.
As soon as he is released from hospitalization and receives his discharge from the Army, Sergt. John H. Goodhall plans to assume management of the filling and service station to be reestablished across the parkway from Restaurant and Garage. He was day manager and chef at the restaurant prior to entering the service.
