Travelling.

From an account kept by the keeper of the turnpike gate on the Chesnut Ridge, between Chambersburg and Stoystown, Pa. it appears that there passed through his gate during the year ending in May last, 7,120 single horses, 350 one horse carriages, 501 two horse do. 105 three horse do. 281 four horse do. 2412 five horse do. 2698 six horse do. 38 one horse sleighs and sleds, 201 two horse do do. Making altogether the number of 38,599 horses, in the course of one year, the first that has expired since the erection of the gate.
