We fully agree with the views of the Editor of the Boston Courier, in this particular, except so far as they may apply to the Editor of the Washington Telegraph, who is so important a personage, 'tis difficult to avoid mentioning his name:
"Editorial Personalities.—We are glad to perceive that some of our neighbors disapprove the practice of one Editor calling another by name, when occasions occur of quoting from cotemporary journals. We consider it as much a breach of courtesy to name an Editor in a comment on what he writes, as it is in Congress, or any other deliberative body, to allude to members by name, and it is long since we have suffered ourself to violate what we consider so necessary a rule of good manners. On more than one occasion, recently, we have declined noticing remarks on us by a cotemporary, because we would not enter into a discussion with those so unmindful of courtesy and good breeding; and in two instances we have refused exchanges for no other reason."
