U. S. PACIFIC FLEET HEADQUARTERS AT PEARL HARBOR, Dec. 29.-(AP)-Japanese bombers raided the American Super-Fortress base at Saipan, in the Tinian Islands on the Marianas, for the second time in three days, It has been reported today. These attacks have been made from the Japanese base at Iwo Jima, where the enemy has a small force. American planes have bombed the base almost daily this month as well as warship bombardment. The first raid on Saipan was made by five planes and the second raid was made by only two raiders who were downed by American fighter planes.
