Aug. 5, 1917—The Union Sunday school picnic which had been postponed from time to time was finally held Wednesday afternoon in the city park of McAllen.

For one reason then another this picnic, which was scheduled to have taken place more than a month ago, had been postponed until Wednesday afternoon.

Every Sunday school in the city was fully represented in addition to a number of the Second Texas boys who were invited to participate in the festivities.

A basket picnic was spread on one long table in the park which was burdened down with all kinds of good things to eat and drink.

The Second Texas Military band added gusto to the occasion and interspersed splendid music throughout the afternoon.
