This afternoon between the hours of 4 and 7 o'clock the Democratic mayoralty nomination will be held in the various wards at the respective voting places in said wards. The surface indications, until very recently pointed to a walk over for Prof. C. B. Rhoads, but within the past week an undercurrent has been discovered in the interests of ex-Mayor Simms which involves the result in a great deal of uncertainty.

Mr. Simms' canvass has been of the still hunt order and its proportions were not appreciated by the friends of Prof. Rhoads until last Thursday.

The Rhoads' following are making vigorous efforts to stem the Simms' current, but with what measure of success can only be determined by a count of the ballots.
