Full Text

Carrie Chapman and Walter Bray.

These two theatrical favorites, formerly so popular among the melodeon goers of this section, since their departure for the overland regions of Idaho, Montana and thereabouts, have, from time to time, been reported killed by the Indians, drowned, scalped, or otherwise disposed of, but as often would they ubiquitously appear in some new quarter, performing to admiring audiences. They have about as many lives as a cat. She, Carrie, especially, would seem to have been dead and buried, the last we heard of her, and the entire troupe, including manager Potter, slaughtered with her, but it seems this is not so, after all, for the editor of the Helena (Montana) Gazette has recently seen a programme of a theatre, in which both Carrie and Walter are cast for parts. They are all right.
