SACRAMENTO, March 10th.
In Senate, an act to restrict the herding of sheep in certain counties, was introduced by Mr. Bell.
An act to authorize the Governor to pardon C. W. Diablo, an escaped convict, to use his evidence against a gang of robbers, passed.
A lengthy message was received from the Governor, transmitting set of regulations he had adopted for government of State Prison.
Governor vetoed bill to pay M. Scott, Jr., for services as Clerk of State Prison Directors. Senate refused to pass bill over the veto—ayes 14, noes 20.
Bill to repeal sixty-ninth section of Practice Act was indefinitely postponed.
Act for the relief of Alex Bell, late State Prison Director lost—ayes 15, noes 18.
Act for repeal of the insolvent law made special order for Wednesday next.
Act for telegraph line from San Francisco to Los Angeles, ordered engrossed.
Act concerning importation and sale of drugs made special order for Friday.
Act to ratify Order 46 of San Francisco Board of Supervisors, passed.
Mr. Grant gave notice of motion to reconsider act to amend act declaring Feather river navigable, passed.
Bill for aid of State Agricultural Society passed.
The new State seal was presented to the Senate.
In Assembly, Committee on Counties reported memorial of citizens of Carson Valley asking cession of California lands on eastern slope of Sierra Nevada to the new territory.
Majority and minority reports on Sunday law bills received. The former recommended passage of Senate bill for that object.
Mr. Stakes gave notice of act to amend sections 237 and 238 of criminal practice act.
Mr. Talman, of an act to repeal the section of the constitution which prohibits slavery.
Mr. Ely introduced bill to create Board of Examiners.
