TREASURY DEPARTMENT.
April 14th, 1812.
Sir,
I have the honor, in conformity with the resolution of the Senate on the 10th instant, to transmit the following statements, viz:
1. A statement of appropriations made by the several acts passed during the present session of Congress, to the 10th April, 1812, inclusive, and amounting together to $17,114,691 34.
2. A statement of sums payable during the year 1812, by virtue of sundry permanent appropriations, and amounting together to $279,975.
3. A statement of the probable application during the year 1812, of the annual appropriation of $8,000,000 for the public debt, distinguishing the sums payable for the interest on the Louisiana debt, and for the interest and reimbursement of the domestic debt.
4. A statement of the balance in the Treasury, on the 31st December, 1811, and of the balances unexpended on the same day in the hands of the Treasurer on account of the War and Navy Departments.

Statement of appropriations made by the acts of Congress, passed from the commencement of the first session of the twelfth Congress (4th November, 1811) to the 10th of April, 1812.

By the act "making a further appropriation for the support of a library," passed December 6th, 1811, $2000 a year for five years, for the years 1811 & 1812.

By the act "to authorize the surveying and making of certain roads in the state of Ohio, as contemplated by the treaty of Brownstown in the territory of Michigan," passed December 12th, 1811.

By the act "making appropriation for the defence of our maritime frontier," passed March 10, 1812, $500,000.

By the act "concerning the naval establishment," passed March 30th, 1812, $500,000.

[This act also contains an appropriation of $200,000 dollars for each of the years 1813 & 1814.]

By the act "authorising a detachment of the militia of the United States," passed April 10th, 1812, $1,000,000.

Statement of the amount payable during the year 1812, in virtue of sundry permanent appropriations:

For arming and equipping the whole body of the militia of the United States, per act of April 23d, 1808, $200,000.

For annuities and payments under certain treaties with Indian tribes, per sundry acts, $53,973.

For annuity to the Dey and Regency of Algiers, per act of May 5th, 1796, $24,000.

Dollars, $279,975.

Sundry appropriations contingent as to their amount.

For defraying the expenses of courts of prosecutions, and safe keeping of prisoners, the amount which may be received into the treasury, arising from fines, penalties and forfeitures.

For defraying the expenses of the marine hospital establishment, the amount received for the payment of tax of twenty cts. a month, on all seamen employed in the foreign or coasting trade of the United States.

For laying out and making roads within the state of Ohio, three per cent on the net amount received for lands sold within the said state.

Statement of the interest payable on the Louisiana stock, and of the amount payable during the year 1812, under the acts making provision for the redemption of the whole of the public debt, for the principal and interest of the public debt.

Interest on the Louisiana stock for the year 1822, $675,000.

Ditto on the funded domestic debt, $1,550,000.

$2,225,000.

Annual reimbursement of 6 per Cent. and deferred stocks, $1,570,000.

Ditto the whole of the converted stock, $565,348.41.

$4,360,848.41.

Balance to complete the annual appropriation of $8,000,000 dollars to be applied to the purchase of stock, if the same shall not be above par, $3,639,681.59.

Statement of cash in the Treasury on the 31st of December, 1811; and of cash in the hands of the Treasurer on that day, on account of the War and Navy Departments.
