Mechanic Charles E. Hudson, Wounded in St. Mihiel Salient Drive, Arrives in U.S.
Mechanic Charles E. Hudson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Hudson, 701 Fourteenth avenue, wounded while in action in the St. Mihiel salient drive, Sept. 15, is back in the United States after spending a long period in a hospital at Bordeaux, France. Word of his arrival in this country has been received by the parents.
He was sent to Gloucester, Mass., to another hospital, and from there to either a hospital in Chicago or to Camp Dodge, according to word he has sent his parents. Although he is able to be transferred about from place to place, it is believed that Mechanic Hudson's wounds are of a serious nature, although the parents have been given no enlightenment as to his condition.
Hudson entered service from Rock Island in April, and was in training at Camp Dodge. He arrived in England on July 2, later going to France and then into action.
