SEES BEER BUT
CANNOT SEIZE IT

SHERIFF GRIFFIN WATCHES FOR
CAR LOAD, BUT FINDS IT IS
FOR FAMILY USE.

Albia, July 17.--Sheriff Griffin was notified last week that a car of beer would reach Hocking Saturday morning and at 4 a. m. of that day the sheriff was on hand to receive the consignment. It came, but was billed to private individual, for family use, which is permissible under the statutes. The maneuvers were watched from the hilltops surrounding the town by men with field glasses. This home was ready for business, had not the law prevented the seizure.
