BRISTOL

Correspondent Sends in a Number of Personal and other Items.

BRISTOL, Oct. 24.—George McGregor moved to Salem Monday where he expects to get work soon. Mr. and Mrs. McGregor has been living on Indian run for quite a while and will be missed very much. It is hoped that he will like his new home and Mrs. McGregor shall enjoy better health by the change.

The Independent Oil Company commenced rebuilding the rig on the William Hickman farm which has been transferred from the "dry hole" drilled there last summer to the new location recently made by R. T. Lowndes Monday. It is 400 feet from a 'jim dandy' of a gas well, drilled in several years ago and plugged.

Jackson Fletcher, of Tenmile, was a business visitor in Clarksburg recently.

Charles R. Donnelly was a Salem visitor Saturday evening.

Stanley Brennan Hickman, of Salem, visited his father, William Hickman, of Indian run recently.

Hiram D. Lynch, overseer of precinct, No. 2, Tenmile district, is busy engaged at this time fixing a piece of road on Tenmile which is a little disagreeable to the auto drivers.

Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones and daughter, Beatrice, were business visitors in Salem recently.

Mrs. Michael Splain is visiting her daughter, Mrs. F. Carregan, of Pittsburgh.

Ora Porter, a pumper for the Southern Oil Company, has rented the house vacated by George McGregor and will move into it at once.

Miss Nettie Hickman was shopping in Bristol recently.

William Hickman and daughter, Dorothy, were calling on Mr. and Mrs. Hiram D. Lynch Sunday.

J. Key and Coffman, the leading grocers of the east end of Salem, contemplate building a fine new store room in the near future.

J. Wade Coffman and family, of Clarksburg, visited friends on Cherry Camp run recently.

Walter B. Flint, of Salem, had two fingers very badly mashed by a grain elevator falling on them the other day.

Mrs. Anna Ritter and children, of Grass run, were visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Davisson, of Cherry Camp run, a few days ago.

Salem Lodge, No. 70, Knights of Pythias, held its regular meeting recently.
