Local Chapter Will Observe "Guide Right" Week
Members of the Kappa Alpha Psi National fraternity are putting on the finishing touch to preparations for "Guide Right Emphasis Week" observance. This Sunday afternoon, April 26 at four o'clock, at Central M. E. church.
J. B. Blayton, president of the Blayton-Adair accounting firm, executive of the Atlanta Negro Chamber of Commerce, and professor of Business Administration at Morehouse College and Atlanta University, will deliver the principal address in the public meeting.
Mr. Blayton is well-known for his worthy public addresses.
Featured on the program also will be the rendition of several brilliant organ selections by Graham W. Jackson, who is also a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.
Much interest is being created in the one-page essay contest open to all 12th grade boys of the city high schools. More than 130 essays are being scrutinized and narrowed down to the final winners of the Fraternity-contest who will be announced Sunday.
A capacity house is expected as the public is interested in the contest. The members of the Pan-Hellenic Council under the direction of Prof. G. Lewis Chandler, head of the English Department of Morehouse College, state that the competition is keen. The first cash prize is Ten Dollars ($10.00) with three cash prizes being given in all.
