GERMANY TRAINING SAVAGES

SAN FRANCISCO, March 28.

German officers have trained 60,000 savages who are waiting in the jungles of German East Africa for battle with the British.

Thus reported J. K. Eaton, a mining engineer, arriving today on the liner Sierra from South Africa.

"The English had thousands of soldiers rushing by railroad to German East Africa five weeks ago.

"For months the Germans have been training the savages. They will fight to the last ditch, but it is believed the English are too powerful for them. Several minor uprising in the Transvaal.
