The article copied into Saturday morning's Picayune from the Vicksburg Herald of the 4th, stating that "the deaths of Bishop Elder and Fathers McManus, Oberfeld and Huber left but one Catholic priest, Father Vitelle, on duty" is undoubtedly incorrect. Father McManus is dead, but we feel certain, from the mere fact that the telegrams have not announced the death of the others, that the report concerning them is incorrect. Bishop Leray of Natchitoches and Father Duffoo of the Jesuits' Church in this city, have gone to Vicksburg.
Since the above was put in type we have learned that dispatches received from Vicksburg state that at five o'clock Friday evening, Bishop Elder was doing as well as could possibly be expected.
