RIDICULOUS FALSEHOOD.

It has been circulated in the south part of the State, that Mr. Mason, one of the Peace Candidates for Congress, is not a freeholder.- When it is almost universally known that this gentleman is one of the first farmers in Rhode-Island, if not the first, and that farming is his principal business, the report seems rather too ridiculous to notice. We, however, notice it, to shew what foolish falsehoods democracy will spread, and to inform those who may not be acquainted with the fact, that he possesses a very large property in land, much of which he cultivates himself.
