Colonel Hindman and major Irvine, of the United States army, and captain Twiggs of the marine corps, arrived in town on Sunday last from New York. The two first gentlemen are on their way to St. Augustine, for the purpose of attending a court martial, of which Colonel Hindman is president. We understand that general Winfield Scott is expected in town in a few days, from whence he will proceed southwardly. The object of his visit is to inspect the different military posts and fortifications in this quarter.
