Livingstone Desmond Suffers Injuries at Funter Bay

JUNEAU - Despite a broken arm and a broken jaw bone which punctured his neck and caused severe bleeding, putting him in a state of coma, Livingstone Desmond is recovering satisfactorily, according to report from the government hospital.

Desmond was brought to the hospital Aug. 13, on an emergency flight from Funter Bay by Fenster, pilot for Alaska Coastal Airlines. He is a fisherman aboard the boat Wanderer and a resident of Wrangell.

According to Dr. John Gibson, attending physician, the exact cause of his injuries was not known.
