WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26.
In Virginia, the Election for Representatives to Congress takes place on the different Mondays within the ensuing month. In a few of the Districts there is much competition, little however appearing in the newspapers on the subject, except in and about Winchester. The candidates for the District composed of the counties of Frederick and Shenandoah, are Henry St. G. Tucker and William Carson; for the District composed of the counties of Hampshire, Hardy, Berkeley and Jefferson, are Thomas V. Swearingen, Edward Colston and Robert Bailey.
Gen. Tucker, we regret to say, is yet detained at Philadelphia by the wound he received by the overturning of the Stage in which he was travelling from this place to Winchester. The celebrated Physicians of that place, it is said, give him no hope of escaping the misfortune of being a cripple for life.
