About 4 o'clock in the morning of Tuesday last, the large two story Dwelling-House of Mr. Aaron Bearn, inn-keeper at Bristol, was discovered to be on fire, which first made its appearance through the roof ; but the utmost exertions of the citizens were in vain. It was very soon reduced to ashes. Several articles of furniture, bedding, &c. were, however, preserved. The Ladies of Bristol, it is said (and much to their honor) formed a line to the water, and returned the empty buckets. It is not ascertained in what manner the fire was communicated.
